Helping Hanover Kids is a brand new initiative between Hanover County elementary schools and Atlee Church. We are responding to specific and immediate needs that the school has identified in their student body.

Many children do not have adequate cold-weather shoes, coats, basic hygiene items, or clothing. We are going to make sure that no child in Hanover County goes without these essentials.

To be a part of the solution and to make a difference in a child’s life today, please drop off the following items as soon as possible. You can bring them to Church on Sunday and leave them in the baskets at the table in the back of the auditorium or you can drop them in the clothing donation bins outside of our main entrance at any time of day (please label or write on the bag ‘Helping Hanover Kids’).

BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ALL THROUGHOUT DECEMBER:

They will be distributed through the local elementary schools to children who are in immediate need.

• NEW OR GENTLY USED COATS - SIZES 6T THROUGH 16 or adult small

• NEW OR GENTLY USED SHOES - SIZES:

  • BOYS: LITTLE KIDS 11 THROUGH BIG KIDS 7, UP TO MEN’S SIZE 8

  • GIRLS: LITTLE KIDS 10.5 THROUGH BIG KIDS 7, UP TO WOMEN’S SIZE 7

• packs of children’s underwear: size 6 through 16 or adult small (for males)

• WINTER HATS AND SCARVES

• CHILD-SIZED GLOVES

• TRAVEL SIZED BODY WASH

• TRAVEL SIZED DEODORANT

• TRAVEL SIZED SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER

• CHAP STICK

• TRAVEL SIZED HAIR BRUSHES, COMBS AND COMPACT MIRRORS

• CHILDREN’S CREW SOCKS - SIZE MEDIUM (9 - 2 1/2)
