Job Description:
The Director of Student’s and Next Step’s primary responsibilities are to provide leadership and direction to students (middle and high school) and to those that are wanting to take the next step in their faith journey by serving. The Director of Students and Next Steps will help grow and maintain a healthy ministry by developing, shepherding, and mentoring students and volunteers, volunteer leaders and volunteer teams.

Be a member of Atlee Church and commit to weekly worship at, and tithing to, Atlee Church. Understand, champion, and be able to clearly and passionately communicate the mission, vision, purpose and core values of Atlee Church.
Seek to grow continually by participation in monthly All Staff meetings, campus meetings and functions. Continue education in the ministry field by attending classes and conferences.
Skills & Talents Needed:
LEADERSHIP: The church is, by design, an organization of volunteers. Every staff member must excel in management of self, teams, and others.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE: The church is a collection of people; therefore, interpersonal and listening skills are necessary for every staff member.
COMPUTER PROFICIENCY: Must be comfortable working with computers and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Gmail, Google Drive
COMMUNICATION: Professional written and verbal communication skills required; Oral communication skills are essential - must be comfortable and articulate speaking to a crowd.
DISCERNMENT: Must be able to discern needs and respond appropriately, sensitively and proactively.
SELF-STARTER: Must be a catalytic leader and self-starter who not only gets things done, but makes things happen.
COACHING: Recruit, train, manage, care for, and appreciate volunteers and teams
Job Responsibilities:
Student Ministry:
· Plan weekly services- where students are comfortable and encouraged to attend
· and grow in their faith.
· Provide small group environments where both believers and seekers can grow
· in their relationship with God and others.
· Build a team of volunteers to assist with small groups, camps, and retreats. This
· includes recruiting, training, managing, and caring for them.
· Plan and prepare retreat events (summer camp, winter retreats and special
· events) that will attract, encourage and inspire students
· Build relationships with parents and keep them involved and informed
· Manage Systems: These systems, at a minimum, include: Student Curriculum,
· Database for student, parents and volunteers (Churchteams)
· Create an annual budget and establish ministry needs for Students
· and implement a plan to meet the goals.
· Keep Student environment Clean- Pay attention to the overall appearance and
· condition of the Student room and equipment. First impressions are lasting; keep
· things attractive and welcoming.
Next Steps Coordinator:
· Work with individuals and leaders to provide opportunities for those in the church to reach beyond themselves to serve.
· Develop, lead, and maintain volunteer teams within the church.
· Identify needs and create teams to meet those needs.
· Define expectations of team members and team leaders.
· Look for and implement ways to encourage volunteers.
· Lead Weekly First Impressions Team Meetings.
· Plan Yearly Volunteer Appreciation Celebration.
· Work with onboarding new members and attenders to serve on teams.
· Maintain and keep up to date volunteer teams in Churchteams.
· Follow up- Connect with those who attend baptism, membership, and other classes.
· Oversee all spiritual gift tests and meet them to connect their gifts to the Church.
· Create different strategies to recruit new volunteers using their spiritual gifts to serve others.
· Create an annual budget and establish ministry needs for Next Steps
· and implement a plan to meet the goals.
Hours and Benefits:
Requires a minimum of 40 hours/week Sun-Thu. Some nights and weekends may be required. Easter and Christmas Eve are required.
Vacation, healthcare benefits and a 403B retirement plan are available after 90 days of employment. Atlee Church will contribute to 403B after 5 years of full time service.
Communicating your anticipated change in schedule is expected, so that your supervisor and staff are informed of your whereabouts.
This is a Full-Time Director level position. The average work week should encompass a minimum of 40 hours per week as the norm.
