Volunteer
We would not be where we are today without the unselfish service of hundreds of volunteers. Many volunteer opportunities exist that allow people to get connected with Atlee by using their gifts and abilities. You can determine which area of service might fit your gifts before you jump in by taking the Spiritual Gifts Assessment (available at The Connection in the church Lobby or online).
Below is a sample of ministries for you to consider. Not sure where to plug in? Complete your Spiritual Gift Assessment and have it ready when you contact us and we will do our best to get you connected in the right place.
Greeters - Serve in rotating teams one Sunday a month to hand out
programs, greet guests and offer assistance at the Information Center.
Ushers - Serve one Sunday a month, assisting guests to find vacant seats in the Auditorium before and during services in order to cut down on noise and distractions once the service has begun.
Community Café Team – Help perk things up on Sunday mornings by serving hot cups o' joe, bagels, donuts and other delectables prior to each service.
Teachers - These volunteers lead home-based Small Groups, serve as apprentices to Small Group leaders, or volunteer with KidStuf or Atlee Student Ministry.
Prayer- Be part of a group that’s notified when prayer requests are shared
with the church and pray for those needs. Another set of teams meet
during one of the Sunday Morning services each week praying
specifically for all services of the day, staff and church leaders,
their families and all the various church ministries.
Landscaping and Lawn Care - During the week these volunteers cut the grass around the church and spruce up anything else that needs sprucing.
Community Care- These volunteers tend to the needs of anybody who isn’t part of a Small Group. When people are in the hospital they make phone calls, send cards, visit or help family members. If you have health training or an interest in health awareness, serve as a consultant or teacher. By doing so you can help by providing periodic services, such as blood pressure checks. In times of loss due to divorce, major illness or death these volunteers help individuals and families recover through your offer of grief support.
Extension Ministries- Many volunteers are needed to serve throughout the Richmond Region
and overseas mission trips. Workers help with construction, repairs,
distributing food and making Christmas more special for families in
need.
Children’s Ministries- Volunteer to teach or be a helper for Infant through Preschool
classes during one of our Sunday morning services. Our Elementary
ministry is always looking for actors, singers, dancers, storytellers,
technical operators and teachers of adolescent and adult ages.
Atlee Student Ministries- Work with middle or high school students as Small Group leaders and
help with weekly programming or “crowd control” during special events.
IT Team- We need your technical skills for the web, database, networking, help
desk, desktop publishing, programming and other computer-based tasks.
Drama Team - During Sunday services and at special events you can help with live performances as an actor, set builder or scriptwriter.
Technical Team - Operate the sound table, stage lights, back stage needs, and A/V gear with this vital team to Sunday mornings/Services.
Music Team - Musicians and vocalists provide music for both Sunday Services and special events.
