CrossRoads is where uncensored conversations abound.  This is a place where everyone (skeptics, seekers, and believers) can come together  for raw, uncensored discussions.  Come to one session or come to all the sessions.  CrossRoads meets four to six times a year on Sundays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the seminar room.  View the CrossRoads schedule to see past and upcoming topics.

Why the name CrossRoads?

Webster defines a crossroad as:

n a : the place of intersection of two or more roads b (1) : a small community located at such a crossroads (2) : a central meeting place c : a crucial point especially where a decision must be made

A crossroad is also very symbolic in nature for it forms the main symbol of Christianity the cross.  Our prayer is that God will use this ministry to bring the above definitions to fruition at Atlee.

What is the CrossRoads?

CrossRoads is a 4 week series that is held four to six times a year and it is where uncensored conversations abound.  CrossRoads consist of four 1 hour sessions and each session is independent of the other and does not build upon each other.  A session consists of 20 - 30 minutes of teaching about the subject, followed by 10 minutes of large group Q&A.  The last 20 minutes allow attendees to talk about the subject in small groups of 5 or less.

What is discussed at the CrossRoads?

At the CrossRoads we try to discuss topics that are timely and relevant to folks that live in our community.  We also try to discuss topics that are crucial in our spiritual decision making and spiritual development. Folks can actively participate in the discussions or passively listen.  Like Atlee Church at the CrossRoads we do not ask anyone to say anything or do anything.  Participation is optional at the CrossRoads.  Topics are also presented in everyday language that everyone can understand and church speak is not allowed.

Who attends CrossRoads?

Sessions are attended by an eclectic group of folks who are at various stages in their spiritual journey.  Folks come to sessions who are new to Christianity or who do not believe in Christianity and folks also attend who have been coming to church for years.  The only mandate is that folks who attend will come with an open heart and open mind.  Anyone who is searching for the truth is welcomed at the CrossRoads.

What is the goal of the CrossRoads?

We have two goals with this ministry.  The first is to be a portal into Atlee’s small group community.  Our hope is that these short no strings attached venues will attract folks who currently are not plugged into Atlee Small Groups and give them a sneak peek at what small groups are like.  We believe that small groups are a key part for spiritual growth and we hope that this ministry will help folks clear any hurdles that they may have for joining a small group at Atlee.

The second goal we have is that we pray that this ministry will help folks obtain answers to those tough questions that may be holding up their spiritual walk and development.  We want to help facilitate discussions and we know that God will provide the answers.

What's Next?

We would like to encourage anyone who has questions and who is interested in learning the truth to attend the CrossRoads. Whether you believe in God or not!  We know that God is big enough for all of your questions.  Come to the CrossRoads and find out what we are talking about.
