Community Care and Teaching Pastor

This pastoral leader should have a passion for reaching seekers and equipping believers for the work of the ministry. The position requires a team player and self-starter with spiritual gifts in the areas of teaching, administration, leadership, and shepherding.  This position is for an ordained church leader, who has a combination of education and experience in discipleship, teaching and church administration.

 

I.                    Community Care:

A.     Oversee pastoral care/care giving ministries of the church including funerals and funeral home point of contact.

B.     Provide leadership for the development, training and management of community care teams (hospital, hospitality, grief, prayer, etc.)

C.     Oversee Support Groups

D.     Manages, oversees and coordinates weddings.

E.      Provide leadership and oversight in the area of counseling.

F.      Develop and train people who can perform weddings and funerals.

G.     Follow up with Response Cards

 

II.                 Sunday Programs and Focus Events:

A.     Teach and perform Welcome and Comments as needed.

B.     Be present at all services.

C.     Administer Communion as needed

 

III.               Spiritual Growth Process: Working with Senior Pastor to…

A.     Oversee the spiritual formation and development of Atlee members and participants.

B.     Manage and oversee the orientation and membership process.

C.     Manage and oversee Discipleship Courses including the 5 G”S (Groups, Growth, Generosity, Gifts, Grace) and other related seminars, workshops, and short courses.

D.     Manage and oversee Baptism process (including participation in the Baptism, Baptism Class, and Reception).

 

IV.              Staff relations, coordination/cooperation with other leaders, personal life:

A.     Model and support church’s vision and core values

B.     Keep staff informed of projects and challenges

C.     Attend staff meetings and functions

D.     Provide assistance to pastors as needed

E.      Protect the unity of church and pray for church leaders

F.      Keep reputation and relationships in harmony with God’s Word

G.     Commitment to family relations and healthy pace of life

 

V.                 Goals

A.     Establish Ministry goals

B.     Implement a plan to meet the goals

 

VI.              Establish Ministry Budget

A.     Submit an annual budget to the Director of Administration

B.     Maintain ministry expenses within budget

 

VII.            Continue education in ministry field

A.     Attend conferences and/or classes
